John Kudos

Managing Partner, NYC

John Kudos is a creative director, educator, and technologist who focuses on creating strategy, design, and storytelling for brands and institutions. His practice embraces collaboration and experimentation informed by emerging technology and diverse cultural backgrounds.

John currently serves on the board of the Type Directors Club (TDC) and Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) to bring more diversity and inclusion to their programs. He is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Art (AIGA) and is currently teaches Intermediate Typography at the School of Visual Arts (SVA).

A native of Bandung, Indonesia, John received his BFA in Design with Digital Media concentration at the MICA in 2001 and developed a career as an immigrant entrepreneur in New York. John’s work has been recognized by the Art Directors Club, AIGA, Communication Arts, D&AD, GDUSA, HOW, PRINT, Society of Publication Designers, TDC, and The Webby. He has 23+ years of design and management experience.

Prior to establishing KUDOS Design Collaboratory™ in 2008, he worked for Pentagram where he led various cultural, retail, and institutional design projects for seven years. In 2019 he cofounded KASA Collective to further develop his passion in fusing art, design, business and emerging technology.
